Magic, Myth and Science: A Return to Awe
Our understanding of the world is...subjective and incomplete. Myths and Magic ruled long before the scientific theory was ever invented. Trial and error are still the name of the game. We, as scientists, come up with an idea and a bunch of ways to test it, and as we learn more, those ways get refined. But in the beginning it is always a belief, a theory. Magic is just science we can't explain; at least not yet. Myth is just a cautionary tale, a warning normally, or a way to explain a natural phenomenon. They are all the same and interconnected. A scientist who doesn't incorporate myth or see the magic in the world is not looking with all their senses. And they are not going to be creative enough to think outside the box.
